Dear Friends,

We have heard from many regarding the baptismal service last Sunday evening. I believe some of the most common words which described the evening were: informal, family orientated, healing, and relational. Thank you for praying and participating in every aspect of this experiment. Bill Petersen was the initiator and Erin both carried this in their hearts. I love the little copper plaque above the baptismal tank, which summarized the entire purpose: In Memory of Adam.

Testimonies (with permission):

Wow! What a wonderful afternoon and evening of teaching, worship, and the awesome manifestation of the work of the Holy Spirit through the waters of baptism!
Thank you all so much! We were overwhelmed with the depth of teaching; the practical aspects of setting this up and caring for everyone's needs; and the power of the Holy Spirit. I believe there was much ground gained for Carol and Emily while both deposited fear into the water. Carol has called herself to us "Carol the worrier." We told her that last night she became renamed, "Carol the Courageous." The progress in the Lord that Carol has made is remarkable....she has so much more peace than ever before. Emily has become "Emily the Brave" even as she fought her dad (the fear was tough for her) in the water, she finally allowed him to put her totally under the water...(to put fear under.)
This morning the Lord spoke to me and I would like to share part of it with you:
"Genuine love- genuine love- genuine love- That is on the record for last night...the genuine love for Me shown by all who attended and were baptized. It is on the record- all the words spoken and sung; all the displays of lavish love. And the witness of the Lamb, the Spirit, the water and the Word were displayed as a wonder and a sign to all.
No one can understand pure and genuine love- love that dies to self--the cross --the humiliation--so hard to embrace and understand --BUT...LOVE was the developed theme of the night. Love stretching out, hinging heaven and earth together so that angelic beings were released, dancing and rejoicing! Blatant...unrepentant love....who can resist??? And if they do resist...it is not without the conviction of refusing the Love. Any judgment rendered (of the activities last night) will come back to those who scoff or deliberately choose to reject such love poured out. They will not be able to deny the love. They will know you are Christians by your love." (love for one another, love for ME)
Thank you so much for putting the baptism "event" together. Next time I'm going under!
In the love of Christ,

Mary and Bob
Just me here responding.
It was a wonderful day. I was very blessed by what your family shared in the events of the day. It was a huge day in the Spirit for our region. It was an honor to witness the people being baptized and I was moved to tears in worshiping the Creator, God Almighty, for their testimonies of His great Love. I agree. Love, genuine Love was evident in all the teachings, words spoken and sung in worship, meals eaten together, and fellowship shared in the preparation/clean up. Thank you God for leading us in your ways. We truly are thankful.
Again, thanks for your attention to details in your family and sharing them with us.

Carlene

Hi Everyone! We never did share anything publicly on Sunday about what has been happening with us. So I'll take the time now to share with all of you.
Over a month ago, the Lord began showing us we had made two negative vows early in our marriage that needed to be broken. Awhile after that He showed me that the vows we made to each other during our wedding 42 years ago, were made in our own strength, not including the Lord at all. I know some of you may think this strange, but it's what we felt we heard from the Lord. So the last Sunday in May, we broke those vows. I had a picture of a large wedge between us that totally disappeared, and the heavens opened up over us. The following Wed, May 28th, we went to Bill and Delight's and they remarried us! It was a wonderful time of dedicating ourselves anew to the Lord. Several wonderful words came out of that time, which I won't go into all of them right now. One, however, stood out to me. It was something Erin said about the two of us in ministry together.
Also during the time all of these things have been happening to us, the men had been discussing being rebaptized and plans were being made to do that. Larry had decided he wanted to. I felt I wanted to also, but I kept seeing a picture of both of us being baptized together. When I asked Larry about it, he said it wouldn't work probably, because the tank was too small. So we asked Bill and Erin and both of them agreed. Probably wouldn't work. I was so sure that was what the Lord wanted. The day before the baptisms we were at Bill's and I had a chance to check out the tank, and I felt we could do it. So our time of baptism was a sealing time and a new beginning for us. What an awesome day it was for all of us. Thank you all for witnessing it! Blessings, Vonny : )

I testified before my immersion that the LORD had been preparing me for baptism, the following is a brief account of those events:

About four weeks before, Bill announced at the Men Of The Spirit (MOS) meeting that there would be a baptism. I couldn't see any point in being baptized again. A week later I asked Bill at the MOS meeting why he was getting baptized again and what more specifically did he hoped to gain by it. He had a good answer which he followed up with an Email explaining it in depth.

Two weeks before, I had a series of dreams, one of which I was leading singing, directing it with my hands, then I was slain in the spirit, got up and went down again. Several people came running up to see if I was OK and they went down too. Erin told me at the MOS meeting that he could see The Spirit all over me, then several men prayed for me. I was slain in the spirit during this time, and after the prayers I began laughing uncontrollably. When I stopped I felt a cool breeze blowing on me, then my face turned back to its normal color and my glasses cleared from the perspiration.

The week before we had a meeting at Bob Geister's office in Sandy and I shared that the LORD had called me to fast solids from Friday through Sunday. I began to get the assurance that something out of the ordinary was going to happen to me at the baptism.

When it was my turn to be baptized, someone began speaking words over me and I was slain in the spirit again, so they had me get into the baptismal and I began shaking. During the immersion I stiffened and felt the LORD wanted me to stay under for awhile. When I got out of the baptismal tank, I began shaking uncontrollably, and this lasted until the end of the service. After I got dressed, Larry said something and I started laughing again, like at Bill's house. What a joy to have the power of God fall on me. PTL

RELEASING THE SPIRIT OF REVELATION!

For over ten years, every day of my life, I have prayed the Word of God as found in Ephesians 1:15 -19, and I have prayed it in various versions over my life. I began to do what I would later call "Pray-Read" which is to pray the Word over my life and the lives of others.

As I learned to let the Word of God dwell richly within my heart, I would simply pray from the overflow of the Word stored up within me. Ephesians 1:15-19 contains the request to give the Spirit of wisdom and revelation. The Apostle Paul wrote this for the Believers in Ephesus and yet is a great model for us yet today! It has become the "bread and butter" of who I am today and who I want every Believer around the world to become. So let's "Pray-Read" the following verses together.

"For this reason I too, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which exists among you and your love for all the saints, do not cease giving thanks for you, while making mention of you in my prayers; that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him.

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe."

Remember that you can Pray-Read any Scripture that is revealed to your heart, but for this week we want to focus on this passage...that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. I also encourage you to Pray-Read this Scripture over many other people that you know. Here is a partial list below to help you in your prayer time this week:

Let's Pray-Read the Word of God over: our own lives, families, churches, the ministries in which we participate, and our neighborhoods and cities!

Awesome! Can you imagine – united prayer this week around the world for the spirit of wisdom and revelation being released? I can! When we do this together, we will experience an increase of prophetic revelation upon our lives and our extended spheres of influence. Below is a teaching outline for your study for receiving revelation.

GOD'S DESIRE IS THAT WE BE A PEOPLE OF REVELATION

God Wants the Lamp of Revelation Lit!

The Holy Spirit wants the candle of His presence to burn brightly within the life of each Believer. Let's trim the lamp of God's presence in the temple of God so that visions will be frequent once again.

1. I Samuel 3:1-3 - Samuel rested by the Ark of God's presence.

2. II Kings 6:17 - Elisha prayed that another would see.

3. John 16:13-15 - The Holy Spirit will illuminate truth.

4. Daniel 12:3 - The wise will shine brightly for the Lord.

Simply Ask!

1. Acts 2:17 - Dreams, visions and revelation are scriptural for you and for today!

2. Ask and receive according to James 4:2 and John 16:24.

3. Revelation comes in.

Answer to Prayer

1. I Kings 3:3-5 - After Solomon offered sacrifices to God, the Lord appeared to him in a dream.

2. Daniel 2:17-23 - Daniel requested that he might know the secret mysteries of the Lord.

Special Situations

1. Genesis 28:10-12 - A ladder of visitation came down to Jacob while in the vicinity of Haran.

2. Matthew 2:19 - After Herod's death, revelation was released to Joseph.

Response to Fasting

1. Daniel 9 and 10 - In responses to prayer, fasting and confession of sin, angelic encounters were sent to Daniel.

2. Matthew 5:3-8 - Humility is rewarded by the Kingdom of God.

Set Your Mind and Affections Above

1. Colossians 3:1-2 - Seek those things which are above.

2. Romans 8:5-9a - Sow things to the Spirit and you will reap things to the Spirit.

3. Romans 12:1-2 - As we renew our minds, the will of God will be revealed to us.

QUIETNESS: THE INCUBATION CRADLE FOR REVELATION

Scriptural Basis of the Necessity of Quietness

1. Isaiah 30:15 - "This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says: 'In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it.'"

2. Psalm 46:10 - "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."

3. Psalm 131:1-3 - "My heart is not proud, O LORD, my eyes are not haughty; I do not concern myself with great matters or things too wonderful for me. But I have stilled and quieted my soul; like a weaned child with its mother, like a weaned child is my soul within me. O Israel, put your hope in the LORD both now and forevermore."

THINGS THAT WILL HINDER THE FLOW OF PURE REVELATION

Lifestyle of Carnality (see Isaiah 57:20-21)

1. Worry - Psalm 37:8.
2. Anger - Ephesians 4:26.
3. Lust - Romans 13:10-14.
4. Alcohol/Drugs/Addictions - Ephesians 5:18.
5. Bitterness - Hebrews 12:15.

Entertainment Issues (see Mark 4:24)

We must be careful what we listen to. What we let into our eyes and ears will be what our heart and mind will dwell on. Go on a TV/movie fast.

Inconsistent Schedules

This definitely can hinder the flow of revelation. At times this is not our fault - with our job demands and schedules etc. Cry out for God's grace and He will help you alter your schedule as needed.

TIPS ON REMEMBERING DREAMS

Working with Clocks

1. If possible, get rid of your loud alarm clock. Ask the Holy Spirit to wake you up. Establish a habit of getting up at a set time if possible.

2. Many dreams come between four to five a.m.

3. Instead of an alarm, wake up by using a clock/radio tuned to soothing music.

Recording Your Revelation

1. Keep a notepad and pen by the bed.

2. Consider using a small tape recorder.

3. Develop your dream alphabet by keeping track of symbols.

4. Make note of your feelings/emotions in the dream/revelation.

5. Ask, "What does this symbol mean to me? Can I find it in Scripture?"

6. Be still and try to recall one or two details and then your memory will kick in (Zechariah 4:2).

Get Counsel

Get wise counsel from gifted interpreters of dreams. Not everyone will have this capacity as developed as others. Even in Scripture, Daniel and Joseph are the only ones who were specifically mentioned having this gift.

KEYS TO TESTING REVELATION

Normally the Voice of the Lord Will Not Create Fear

The enemy can release oppression (Psalm 55:3), but God's way will release hope to us (Romans 15:4).

It Will Not Condemn

When you abide in Christ, there is no condemnation (Romans 8:1). But the ministry of the Holy Spirit will bring strong, specific conviction of sin (John 16:8).

It Will Not Put You Down

The Lord is for us and when we call on His name, He comes to our aid (Psalm 55:12) and will edify and comfort you (I Corinthians 14:2).

Short Dreams Will Carry A Lot of Impact

At times, the short dreams you awaken out of are the most significant. Long dreams at times are a result of your active or even tired soul (Ecclesiastes 5:7).

It will be Backed Up by the Word

God does not contradict Himself. True revelation will not conflict God's word but complement and confirm (John 16:13; 17:17).

The Inner Witness of Your Spirit

The Holy Spirit will speak peace to your heart (Psalm 85:8; Colossians 3:15) and give you an inner witness (Romans 8:16).

PLUG IN AND RECEIVE

Ask and Believe (see Mark 11:24)

When we pray, believe that we receive! God wants you to receive freely!

Receive! (see Acts 3:3-5)

Now - release your faith toward God and expect to receive! Remember, God wants you to hear His voice and experience His revelatory ways even more than you want to!

A Rendezvous of Prophetic Intercessors who are hearing from God about what he is doing and planning to do in the Cascadia region.

August 9-10, 2008
Troutdale, Oregon
Cost is FREE, but you must register to reserve your seat.

Purpose
Many of you reading this purpose statement have some history and relationships with key cities in the Northwest. May of us have been praying and contending for the Northwest for decades. In the last decade many of us have been meeting those who have the same heart. Your hosts, Darrell (Gresham), Dave (Southwest Washington) and Mark (Astoria) feel it's time we "rendezvoused" ...much as the pioneer explorers did early in our territories' history.

Rendezvous is the Anglicization of the French word Rendez-vous meaning "appointment". "Rendezvous" was the name used for the annual meeting of mountain men and fur buyers during the fur trade era, where trappers would exchange beaver skins for supplies and goods they wanted. These events occurred between the early 1820s and the 1840s.

We believe God is calling us to a diving appointment....where we freely exchange and encourage one another. We'll do this over two days, Sat, August 9 and Sunday, August 10, 2008. We are looking forward being able to gather with you as we seek the Lord!

This event is free, but you must register due to very limited space.

Cascadia Rendezvous of Prophetic Intercessors
Glenn Otto Park in Troutdale, OR.
1102 E Historic Columbia River Hwy. Troutdale, OR 97060

Cost is FREE, but you must register to reserve your seat.
The gathering would focus on three simple elements:
Worship
What do we HEAR God Saying?
What do we SEE God Doing?
This is not meant to be a "Y'all come" event. It is primarily for prophetic intercessors who are hearing from God about what he is doing and planning to do in our region. The gathering dates are: Aug. 9, & 10, 2008
Sat. 08-09-08 10AM-9PM (detailed breakout of time TBA)

Graham Cooke shares his passionate views about the purpose and role of New Testament prophets.

When you talk to Graham Cooke, you can sense he’s been hanging out with God. He’s at the same time down-to-earth and full of spiritual wisdom on everything from prayer to spiritual warfare to prophecy to intimacy with God. Cooke is well known for his prophetic training programs and has a passion to build prototype churches that can reach our postmodern society. God also uses him to help transition churches into higher levels of vision and ministry. Cooke is a building prophet. A British native, he is part of the pastoral ministry leadership team at The Mission in Vacaville, Calif. Cooke’s ministry, the Future Training Institute, sends resources to the poor around the world, and his books and

interactive journals, including “Approaching the Heart of Prophecy,” “Developing Your Prophetic Gifting” and “Permission Granted,” are helping to equip thousands of believers for the work of the ministry. The Voice magazine caught up with Cooke to talk about the state of the prophetic ministry today. The Voice: What should we be doing as prophets in this time? GRAHAM COOKE: Well, first of all there is a biblical link between apostles and prophets laying foundation in the church. The role of a New Testament prophet primarily is not to prophesy. It’s to teach people how to hear the voice of God themselves because Jesus said ‘My sheep know My voice.’ We actually need millions of Christians released to hear the voice of God for themselves. New Testament prophets therefore are essentially prophets of confirmation. They bring new words and so forth, but their role is to teach people how to hear the voice of God, to teach people how to live, find, discover, and live in the will of God and create a church as a prophetic community. In the process of all of that prophets teach people how to handle the different levels of prophecy, like edification, exhortation, comfort, words of revelation, words of warning and so on. Prophets should model how people should prophesy; they model who Jesus is. So we produce this prophetic community that really understands about grace, mercy and reconciliation. THE VOICE: I’m seeing a lot of curses and judgment being pronounced in prophetic circles. What’s your view on that? GRAHAM COOKE: John the Baptist was the last of the Old Testament prophets. Jesus was the first of the New Testament. But John had to come and bow the knee, which is the Old Testament model bowing the knee to the New Testament model. So think of it this way: Do you think Jesus was punished enough for sin? Do you think the Father judged Jesus thoroughly? Did He spend every last ounce of anger and wrath on Christ on the cross? THE VOICE: Absolutely. GRAHAM COOKE: So then there’s no judgment left, no anger left, no punishment left. God is fully satisfied. Between Calvary, which was judgment on Christ, and the Judgment Day when all the books will be opened, there is no place for judgment in this world. What does judgment look like? We’re not judging humanity. We do sit in judgment on authority over the demonic. We cast out devils. But when it comes to a sin sick world, we are ambassadors of reconciliation. We’re saying a price has been paid. You cannot say on the one hand the price has been paid and be reconciled to God and then be judging people for their sin on the other hand. If all the judgment has been put on Christ, there is no judgment for us to enter into. It’s the goodness and kindness of God that brings people to repentance. We’re ambassadors of reconciliation and we have to move in the grace and mercy of Christ. When we look at a person who’s in sin we are assessing them not about their sin, we are assessing them in terms of Father. We are asking how much grace and mercy do we need to show to this person in order for them to be reconciled? THE VOICE: That’s beautiful. GRAHAM COOKE: As the Church we are stepping into the gap with Jesus and we are praying for mercy, not judgment. We want God to rain down mercy so the love that covers a multitude of sin can come into the community and people can see what God is really like and fall in love with Him. That’s our job and I think that’s a huge part of prophetic ministry in the earth. What if the biggest problem in America is the lack of goodness? The Bible says we overcome evil with good. What if the biggest problem in America right now is that the Church does not understand the true Gospel message? And it doesn’t understand the true nature of God. So she is not positioned to pull down favor from heaven because we’re in this other mindset, which is God is wrathful. And He’s not. He vented all of His anger on Jesus. THE VOICE: I’ve had people tell me I’m a fool for saying similar things. Do you get backlash for this stance? GRAHAM COOKE: Yes, it’s a good fight though. The fight is to move away from the whole religious mindset and to see ourselves as the beloved of God, that we have favor and God wants to push His favor through the Church to a hurting world. That’s the fight we’re in and that’s what we’re contending for in the prophetic. THE VOICE: Do you see a time coming when prophets are going to relate to the Lord differently? GRAHAM COOKE: Yeah...I do know a handful of prophetic people like myself who have been living this stuff for a long time now, but what I see right now is that the tide is turning. There are more and more prophetic people coming under this kind of influence and we’re actually cutting the ground away from the cowboy prophets who are just out there doing all the usual doom and gloom stuff. I’m still waiting for a bunch of prophets to apologize for the Y2K nonsense. Those guys they were so visible and made so much money and then suddenly its like they are denying they had that revelation. The numbers are starting to grow and there is a measure of accountability coming to the prophetic ministry. We need to get our act together and really look at whom and how are we disciplining and mentoring people. That’s the reason really why I’m rewriting “Developing Your Prophetic Gifting.” Whether or not I get killed, this is what I’m teaching. This is what I believe. This is what I want to be known for. THE VOICE: That religious spirit is a murderous spirit. GRAHAM COOKE: Have you ever seen that film “The Apostle”? It came out years ago and some guy was the star of it. He actually grew up in Pentecostal religion. In order to study for the role he attended loads of Pentecostal churches throughout the country. He brilliantly acted and did an astonishing job, but I hated the premise of the movie because it was just all the usual religious nonsense. The deceptions. I remember sitting in the cinema and hating it so much I wanted to climb on the screen and punch his lights out. I was so annoyed. In fact, I got up to leave and the Lord said to me, “Sit down. I want you to see this and I want you to come back tomorrow night and the following night because I want you to know. I want you to see your enemy. I want you to see the religious spirit because that’s what I’ve raised you up to fight.” Then I went back and took notes. I want to fight this thing so badly, I can taste it. I don’t want to fight it the way that it fights. I want to fight it by living in the opposite spirit. I don’t want to judge it because there’s no judgment. I want to say that there is a more excellent way and this is it. I want to move in the opposite spirit instead because you overcome evil with good. THE VOICE: Your words are so refreshing. Why don’t we see more watchmen prophets, more prophets to the nations who are really standing in the gap and making up a hedge? GRAHAM COOKE: I meet a lot of new people on the prophetic scene and I honestly believe that most of them won’t last the distance because they have no eternal rest, they have no place of inner peace or rest. Some of the guys who have been my mentors over the years, the first things they taught me were not about the prophetic. They taught me how to live with God. They taught me how to live from the inside out. One of them taught me that if you want longevity in the ministry you have to spend 80 percent of your anointing on God, in intimacy, in worship, in waiting on Him and in meditation. Now this is my 33rd year in the ministry and I spend four months of my year in meditation. I look at some of these people coming through and some of them are incredibly busy and they’re marked for ministry, but in the end I’m more about doing than being. I think that there’s no patience in them, all their prophetic stuff is about quick, quick, quick. I think, too, that there is a huge difference between blessing prophets and building prophets. Right now we have way too many blessing prophets and not enough building ones. All the blessing prophets, unless they have adequate training and mentoring, always root their prophetic ability in the Old Testament and not the New. So that’s something we need to correct. I’ll still say I’m excited, Jennifer; it’s a fight, it’s a good fight and it’s one that we’re going to win. THE VOICE: What would you say to young or unknown prophets to encourage them? GRAHAM COOKE: Find your tribe. Go through the Scriptures, go through the New Testament, ask the Holy Spirit to speak to you about what New Testament prophesy is and then look for people who have that kind of message, who may be ahead of you. Go join yourself there and build a relationship with those people who will want to set you free. Go and find your tribe and then go to a place where you can be celebrated and you can grow and develop. Don’t stay in a place where you’re merely tolerated and not really wanted. I do believe that the Lord is digging out prophetic wells in various regions around the country. Go join yourself to fathers in the prophetic who can develop you into real sonship.

Friends,

We are looking forward to our first baptism this Sunday, June 8th with baptism teaching beginning at 1pm and baptisms beginning approximately at 3pm. (by the way, we'll have a "somewhat warm" baptismal tank...as opposed to the literal Sandy River water temperature)
In order to adequately plan for the afternoon, please call 503-515-2452 or send an email to victoryhouse@comcast.net if you'd like to attend and/or be baptized. Information is always posted at our Pacificministries Blog. We'll host our monthly Worship at the River at our regular 6pm time.

Most of you are aware of the Florida meetings with Todd Bentley. Todd is most assuredly an unconventional figure to most of the evangelical community. In 2000, Carlene and I and several leaders in Pacificministries attended a conference in Grant's Pass Oregon where Todd was one of many speakers. Those 3 days were pivotal in our current understanding of much of what God is doing around the world. Later, Todd came to Gresham and we held an "unconventional" meeting in a pizza parlor....and, over a New York style Canadian Bacon Garlic Pizza pie, Todd spoke a very accurate and confirming prophetic word over Carlene and I.

Rick Joyner has been a balanced and consistent voice for many. His recent series on revival has been very encouraging to those of us meeting in smaller groups. I've taken the liberty to highlight portions of his latest article, (find a link to the entire article at the end). I found it encouraging.

We bless you in this season of God's small beginnings!

Darrell and Carlene

P.S.

Couldn't resist sharing the latest pictures of our grandson, Calvin:

Morningstar Article

  • I have been receiving communications from around the United States and Europe that are all reporting the same thing—they are seeing healings and miracles on a level like they have never seen before. This is a time of a great visitation of God to His people.
  • The Lord is the same today as He was then. His name is not "I was," or "I will be," but "I AM." The same Holy Spirit that was present with the church in the Book of Acts is present with us today.
  • Miracles do encourage people. God is moving again, and many things are now being done among us that are beyond human ability—they can only be attributed to God. Truth is also encouraging, and the same Spirit who does these works among us is also the Spirit of Truth, and He is about to pour out a great love for truth on His people....a generation is about to take their place that has not believed the evil report, the report of the ten evil spies. They have aligned themselves with the faithful report of Joshua and Caleb, that the taking of the inheritance has nothing to do with how big the giants are or how small we are but on how great our God is. They are now lining up on the banks of the Jordan River, ready to cross over and take their inheritance.
  • Wisdom is basically the proper combination of knowledge with experience. However, both the knowledge and the experience of the emerging generation are going to be different from past generations. Many in my generation believed that the Lord was still healing and doing miracles today, they just rarely saw them.
  • Disappointment is not nearly as bad as not believing. Start promoting faith, and start expecting miracles. The experience of the coming generation will not be the same as the last. It is always true wisdom to believe God.
  • There is a difference between human energy, excitement, and faith that is sometimes hard to distinguish. True faith is often accompanied by excitement and always with expectation, but they are not always the same and are often confused. True faith can be quiet, even reserved. True excitement can also be very quiet and reserved.
  • In the Scriptures, we see that Jesus usually did His greatest miracles, such as walking on the water, when there were just a few present.
  • After the Lord did many of His great miracles, many had their hearts even more hardened, persecuting Him even more vehemently because of the works that He did. They were so hard-hearted that after He raised the dead, they even resolved to kill Him. Greater miracles and faith usually result in more persecution, not more people coming to faith in Jesus.
  • True evangelism is not dependent on miracles, but on the Holy Spirit to convict of sin and the desperate need we have for the atonement of the cross.
  • God heals because He loves people, and He does not like for them to suffer. He does miracles because we need them. This is why compassion is so crucial for a true healing ministry.
  • The more obedient we become, the more power we can be trusted with.
  • The churches that experience the most healings and miracles are likewise usually those that provide an atmosphere of faith and expectation, and the faith and expectation is directed to the Lord rather than the church or healing ministries. This could be summed up as learning to be a good host for the Holy Spirit.
  • ...we must know Jesus as our Healer. We should be thankful for human medicine and remedies, which the Lord gave the wisdom and skills to develop. However, we should pursue having a healing ministry in the body of Christ that is so powerful and dependable that His people will not need hospitals or human remedies.
  • ...the smallest meetings have tended to be the most powerful, which have been so pronounced that we start getting more excited when we see that it is going to be a smaller crowd in a meeting. Do not despise small meetings! Keep in mind that the Lord did His greatest miracles in small groups.

Very Important Word Concerning The Lakeland, Florida Healing Outpouring & The Pacific NW - From Bob Jones & Keith Abrahams

At the first Washington State Apostolic and Prophetic Gathering conference in Wenatchee, WA (April 18th-19th, 2008) there was a very important and timely word released in a conversation with Bob Jones. This word was for the Pacific Northwest and beyond, and it also is related to the current outpouring in Lakeland, FL. The “live” telephone conversation was played over the PA system for all to hear. It was an awesome, encouraging and empowering Word for all.
The Lord had spoken to Timothy Johnson about the need to call Bob Jones on Friday night, and then the burden returned to him again the next day. Timothy finally called Bob Jones during the afternoon lunch, but only got a voicemail. The experience that happened to Bob on that Saturday was exactly coincident with the time in which Timothy Johnson was in prayer, asking God to please stir Bob’s heart to call back. While Bob was asleep in his hotel room in North Carolina, he said he heard a voice calling from a long distance away saying, “Bob, we need help, because we are locked out of the Treasure room. Would you open the door for us, into this Treasure room?” The details of the event are well worth reading.

Click here for a report and transcript of the prophetic word

In this prophetic word, Bob Jones refers to a word that he released on New Years Eve (at MorningStar) in which he saw a young bald headed eagle, covered with tattoos coming down out of Canada into Washington State. Bob thought the word that came was a wind would begin to blow out of Canada, settle in Washington, then quickly spread to other states and go out to the whole nation. What Bob said in the conversation documented above was that the current outpouring in Lakeland, Florida was a manifestation of what had already come down out of Canada. Bob related to us that the eagle he saw with the tattoos he now understands was Todd Bentley, coming back out of Canada and operating in a powerful anointing for miracles and healings. The New Years Eve word mentioned that after blowing out of Canada, this wind would settle in Washington, and then quickly go out to surrounding states. Bob said that this wind was already in Washington, but there would be a need to contend for it.
Right after Bob linked the Lakeland Healing Outpouring to the prophetic word from New Years Eve, Keith Abrahams from Canada (who ordained Todd Bentley exactly 7years ago along with Bobby Connor), came forth to bring a POWERFUL word that totally tied into what Bob Jones had just released minutes before.

Click here to listen to the audio recording

Both the word given by Bob Jones and Keith Abrahams relate to previous prophecies regarding a coming wave of the Spirit of God that will come out of Canada, through the Pacific Northwest and greatly impact the US, Canada, and the world.
In particular, a word released by Bobby Connor in 1997 made reference to a coming wave of the Spirit that would come out of Hamilton, Ontario through Vancouver, BC, into Washington, throughout the Northwest and into the world.

Click here for several related archived prophetic words

Todd Bentley has just released a recent word from Lakeland, Florida about The Third Wave coming – this word was given in Lakeland, Florida on Monday April 21st. Todd Bentley had called Bob Jones shortly after the conference in Wenatchee, documented above, and Bob gave Todd the “green light” to fully release the details of the prophetic word.

In the conference in Wenatchee, Bob Jones made reference to the fact that there would be a need to contend for what God is ready to release. To quote Bob, “Boy, whatever you do, don’t stop contending until you get it”.
The purpose of this posting is to give the Body of Christ valuable information, which has come to us, and release it for action. There is no doubt that there are other important pieces of information relating to this subject, and no representation of completeness is made.

An Invitation

Bill and Delight Petersen are trusted friends and counselors . We feel part of Worship at the River will expand to include afternoon teachings, impartations, followed by fellowship as we eat together (bring your meal). Our first afternoon is Sunday, June 8th. Please read Bill's message for June's afternoon gathering:

Recently while I was in Central Oregon, I visited the church where I accepted the Lord. Since it was a weekday, I just sat in the sanctuary and wrote in my journal. I was reminded of being baptized there some 50 years ago. Through the wonderful people in that church I came into an understanding of my need for salvation and was converted, baptized, and discipled. The Holy Spirit reminded me of many wonderful experiences as my faith grew in that setting.

I reflected on the fact that my initial baptism was “John’s baptism”. I also thought about the fact that 20 years after my conversion I had come into new understandings and experiences in the Lord. You might say that I was an “Ephesian Christian” (Acts 19:1-6) because the theology that I was converted into did not include the gifts of Holy Spirit and other teachings that I now embrace. As I sat there I felt like the Lord was saying that I should be baptized again.

Growing up as a child in that church I understood as a child. I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I had to put away childish things. Through my teen years and later in life I grew to understand that not all that I had been taught as a child was accurate or complete. I need to put to death old teaching and be released into newer life.

Jesus recognized His need for water baptism too. He insisted that John baptize him and when he came out of the water his Father poured out Holy Spirit on Him.

Into what were you baptized? If you have never been baptized or the Spirit is prompting you to be baptized with new understanding, we invite you to come to our orientation.

Welcome to the people of Siletz, Oregon, also Jim and Faith.

Blessing of food to those from Siletz.

Jim Chosa was given permission to speak blessings over this land, by an elderly Yakima woman and Chief, of Siletz. The indigenous people retain spiritual authority; the protocol of permission is commanded to follow and manifest the kingdom of heaven over this land. Jim, in conjunction with Darrell, then asked each of us permission to speak through the Holy Spirit. We gave permission and prepared our hearts.

We are functional citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven; we are hungry and thirsty for truth. There needs to be a shift, a significant change from theoretical Christianity to actual Christian walk, reality. There is a mazelike, complex network from Satan, with the purpose of corrupting what God has made and keep the physical body enslaved and fighting the Holy Spirit. We need to learn true spiritual warfare. The ego nature has an instinctive resistance to God.

Those who are hungry and desperate for the Kingdom of God must advance in our lives in Christ, before we can advance the Kingdom of God. This is the single purpose of our lives.

The challenging issue is one that began to grow with Adam and Eve and has not really been dealt with; it is a matter of ownership – who owns me? – is it working? – if it isn’t working in Christ, it’s still theory. We are living too much in the theory of ownership.

The phrase “your God” is in Scripture 182 times; in Romans 8:17, we are heirs of God and joint heirs through Christ. The Lord God says, “They will be my people and I will be their God.” When our hearts first opened to God, we never fully understood reconciliation and were never fully restored. Transformation is about each person being transformed, then each community. If we are truly transformed, we want the glory of God to be manifest. We are the winners in the equation; God says we are His people and we can corporately and individually receive Him - our God.

God is raising up men and women who will confront “religion” that is attached to the philosophies of men.

“In Jesus Name, I break the hold on me that held me captive.”

Remember, with great intent and purpose, your Creator. The power of creation: God can take the problem and transform it to be the answer. Creator God owns me and I own Creator God (we are in relationship together). My problems are not my own, but God’s. The language of false religion has taken us to false ownership. Worship is the key whereby God (and us) declare ownership and we release our problems to Him.

If God owns me and I am not under the curse, the curse of “dis – ease” cannot get me through misunderstood ownership. God comes in the worshipper and changes the condition of the worshipper. We enter into a covenant of ownership; I belong to you and you belong to me – I worship you.

We have an inheritance; it’s you.

You have an inheritance; it’s us.

There is a musical phrase; the Holy Spirit is at work in our hearts. There is healing and anointing in Jim’s hands. In the great power of God, we can lay hands on the sick. We need not pray at that moment, merely lay our hands on and trust in the power of the Almighty God. Jim finished with this profound truth and challenge to us, that we practice merely laying our hands on those who are sick and entrusting their lives to the power of God.

“The one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous.”

1 John 3:7 New American Standard

May 2008 Update

Dear Friends,

For nearly five years, many of us have gathered each second Sunday of
every month at Troutdale's Glenn Otto Park near the Sandy River. We've
met to worship, listen, affirm, encourage, and experiment. We have endeavored
to follow I Corinthians 14 and Ephesians 5:

"When you come together, everyone has a hymn, or a word of
instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. All of these
must be done for the strengthening of the church."

"Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and
make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the
Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ."

These are really quite simple admonitions, but admittedly, most of us
have no experience, reference, or model in how this really works. We
have much more experience as spectators. We'd
much rather someone lead us than follow the prompting of the Holy
Spirit to sing some kind of solo (how frightening!).

So how DO you "speak to one another with a song?" As Mary learned
to sit at the feet of Jesus, so we are learning at the River to do the same.
Carlene and I marvel at the corporate creativity, fragrance, and beauty in
the songs released in "earthly vessels" for the strengthening of the church.

So, we invite you to celebrate...in the spirit of constant thanksgiving for
everything, to honor Jesus this Sunday at 6pm.

We bless the original song in your spirit,

Darrell and Carlene

Friday, April 11, 2008

Dear Friends,

It's Friday, April 11, 3:30 am...and yes, my internal time-clock is
unsure of what time zone or even what city I'm in. After 18 days and
7 cities, I'm finally in my own home! Thank you for your prayer
support during a grueling but rewarding trip.

I had several encounters with leaders of the "unknown
Church"....believers who are not "underground", but rather, who are
fully functioning and active Kingdom workers in various countries
whose governments regularly persecute and imprison Christians.
Understandably, I cannot share any specific names and places, but I
was humbled, encouraged, and blessed by their stories of faith and
perseverance under great pressure. These meetings had great personal
impact, and I believe are divine appointments which will have meaning
for years to come.

We are excited to welcome Jim and Faith Chosa
(http://www.daychief.org) this Sunday, April 13, 6pm at our monthly
Worship at the River gatherings. Carlene and I joined this couple
last year on an intercessory prayer assignment throughout the Olympic
Peninsula. We'll also welcome other long time friends from Oregon
First Nation churches to this Sunday's Worship at the River.

You can find directions and Newsletter summaries of our Worship at the
River gatherings, review travel itineraries, listen to podcasts, and
view pictures and even video at Pacificministries.

Blessings!

Worship at the River Watchmen at the River

Newsletter of Pacific Ministries’ monthly meetings March, 2008

at Glenn Otto Community Park, Troutdale, Oregon.

Our God receives our prayer and prophetic proclamation; we are, in Him:

~ strong in the spiritual battle with spiritual generals,

~ sending the spiritual to the nations,

~ bringing nations to prayer,

~ changing the nations!

From humble surroundings in Troutdale, and a humble heart before the God of the Universe,

To the ex-mayor of Seoul, Korea, one who is respected and highly influential,

A voice of righteousness, sharing the love, truth and grace of our God,

A man of God, Darrell, is a man of obedience to the call of God;

we are a people of God and are also obedient to His call,

of deep, profound and powerful prayer.

We follow the Lord and watch expectantly,

for what He is doing among men and women, and children too!

Testimony of Healing

Delight (a beautiful name ever reminding us of our delight in Christ!)

- problem - a car accident that left severe neck problems; even with two pillows sleep has

been difficult and arm movement was impared.

- healing - There was specific prayer for Delight last month; God healed Delight’s neck

so completely that sleeping with pillows was not necessary and arm movement is greatly improved!

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!

Stretching forth our hearts, hands, arms, voices and banners, in affirmations of faith ~

We want to be a thankful people, Lord. We worship you.

Sing to the Lord a new song; declare His glory.

Let us shout and glorify His Name.

Great is the Lord; you are worthy of all praise.

The Almighty declares, “I’m reigning above all nations.”

Prophetic word:

1. We’re moving into kingdom authority through gratitude.

2. There will be the healing of minds and bodies.

3. There will be greater laughter, unity and freedom to lift His Name high.

4. There will be joy, in the spiritual awakening of our nation.

5. Generations will be blessed ~ children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

6. One generation will declare to another that the Lord has done great things.

7. We are brothers and sisters in Christ; we are robed in righteousness and

perfecting grace of Christ, as His bride.

The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come!”

The banner over all of this is His love, cleansing love.

We are soaking in the Presence.

We receive from the Holy Spirit ~ the ministry of the Spirit,

through the wind of the banner, (which is love!)

The voice of His song ~ the instruments of His grace.

Prophetic word:

1. Take the tests and trials and turn them into joy.

2. All things will be made new.

3. There will be a softening, a whispering of His comfort.

“Come to me, all you who are weary.

Come to me, all you who are burdened.

I will give you rest; you are not mistakes.

You are not orphans anymore; sons and daughters you are.

There is a rest for sons and daughters; you do not have to strive anymore.

Understanding who we are in Christ ~ free sons and daughters,

we can leave the backpacks we carry, those that are filled with the unnecessary.

Jesus, lover of my soul, I will follow You.

The Lord wants to remove the lies and give us new names.

He wants to honor Himself in us and through us.

~ A sign for surrender ~ Our hands at the shoulders, with fingers bent,

move upward and opening, ~ to let everything fall into His hands.

We want to let go and rest in your loving arms.

In your light, we see light; in your arms, we find rest.

We will rest in your arms and be at rest.

Soaking ~ find a quiet place to be alone with the Lord ~ ask Him to be with you.

Listen to the things He shares; take time to soak in His Presence.

“ ‘See, I will send my messenger, who will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly the Lord you are seeking will come to His temple; the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, will come,’ says the Lord Almighty. But who can endure the day of His coming? Who can stand when He appears? For He will be like a refiner’s fire or a launderer’s soap. He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: He will purify the Levites and refine them like gold and silver. Then the Lord will have men who will bring offerings in righteousness, and the offerings of Judah and Jerusalem will be acceptable to the Lord, as in days gone by, as in former years.”

Malachi 3:1-4

A banner of iridescence ~ a fire, refining silver and gold.

in the refining process, we will bring offerings of righteousness.

“ ‘But you who revere my Name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. And you will go out and leap like calves released from the stall. Then you will trample down the wicked they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day when I do these things.’ says the Lord Almighty.” Malachi 4:2,3

Releasing our hold on the name we have carried,

we receive the new name God pours over us, rejoicing in the joy of His blessing.

The Lord is blowing the Shofar over us ~

For the Spirit of Intercession.

Pressing into Scripture, releasing healing – (facing separation anxiety)

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,

neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth,

nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us

from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38,39

Leading by example ~

Lay down the script, the plans prepared,

Trust the Lord for His Word for His people.

Trust Him for prophetic preaching.

Pray for each other as opportunities arise for ministry.

“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,

because the Lord has appointed me to preach good news to the poor.

He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives,

and release from darkness for the prisoners,

to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God,

to comfort all who mourn and provide for those who grieve in Zion,

to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning.

and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.

They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor.

They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated;

they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations.”

Isaiah 61:1-4

Prophetic words over Darrell and Carlene:

1. You have divinely inspired influences; in the Spirit you are dancing on iniquity

2. You are magnets of strength together; a new door in a harvest basket of righteousness.

3. Jacob sent gifts ahead to Esau; Christ’s body in South Korea is Jacob and North Korea is Esau; Darrell and Carlene are a part of the Lord’s gift in the harvest basket.

“Jacob looked up and there was Esau, coming with his four hundred men; so he divided the children among Leah, Rachel, and the two maidservants. He put the maidservants and their children in front, Leah and her children next and Rachel and Joseph in the rear. He himself went on ahead and bowed down to the ground seven times as he approached his brother. But Esau ran to meet Jacob and embraced him; he threw his arms around his neck and kissed him. And they wept.” Genesis 33:1-4

Friends...

Sometimes a song can express more in a few minutes than hours of teaching/preaching. Last month, I was sharing with a Korean congregation, and I felt impressed to "sing the message." I picked up the worship leader's guitar, and sang a new song...right out of scripture. (Psalms 133) The song was spontaneous and interpreted in Korean.
(click on the link to hear it)
I am leaving tomorrow for Korea and Carlene is remaining here to care for family. Thank you for praying for us, and I will continue to update my journey through an audio podcast.

Dear Friends on the Journey...

Most of us would agree the "journey" is more important than the "destination". In our pilgrimage, Carlene and I have discovered treasures in the informal personal relationships of fellow pilgrims "on the way." Some of our paths have crossed briefly, others have had the luxury of more than a few hours. We celebrate the way the Holy Spirit is "knitting" our paths together....much like a beautiful pattern, a kind of divinely creative mosaic.

I love the story in Luke 24 of Jesus intersects two pilgrims on the way to Emmaus:

...beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself....When he was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight. They asked each other, "Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?"

Suddenly, in the process of the journey, their eyes were opened and they received Revelation of the Living Word. The two "on the way" were forever changed in this encounter.

I sometimes wonder about how effective our Western-style, left brain teaching is really impacting others...whether our life methods are "opening eyes" or just adding more information.

I've always been more attracted to the lab rather than the theory. Last week I was at an alternative high school...my favorite environment because this is where Jesus would most likely recruit His disciples. The teacher I was substituting for had posted a sign in the class...and I took a picture of it:

As you can deduct, it is a chart depicting how we learn...really learn. Most of our educational systems are based on a Greek sermon-style or linear, and cognitive style of learning. Our "group attempts " (home church, Bible study, etc) are, at best, 50% effective. But, when we "see...do....teach... we encounter, remember and are changed.

I'm afraid in our culture of text messaging, email, voice mail, media saturation, etc., we have lost the art of true dialogue.....actually conversing and listening to each other. We experienced this when our son Matthew was unable to use the phone or email during the 12 weeks when he was in Marine boot camp. Instead, the few letters we received were wept and prayed over. His letters became treasures.

Our monthly Worship at the River meetings are not "lecture-style" gatherings, but our desire is to encounter Jesus....much like the Emmas road travelers. Join us on the road this March 9th at 6pm in Troutdale. Join us!

We, who are called the "Church" are in transition. We are privileged to live in one of the most pivotal times in history. Never have I felt the need to in greater ways, support and pray for one other during this season. Please let us know how to pray for you. It is Carlene's and my desire to "knit" ourselves together for Kingdom purpose. We are Living Stones, placed together by the Master Builder. I love how the Building is shaping up.

On another note, Carlene and I are looking forward to several important events which, I believe, may set a course for the future for us. I am asking if you would listen and pray for specific events on our upcoming calender:

March 6-7

Worship in partnership with meetings with Plumbline Ministries. This
is our third trip to Vantage WA, this time I am teaching a One Day
Intensive on Saturday for worshippers as well as facilitating worship
and prayer before and after the Plumbline sessions.

March 22-April 5

During this second trip to Korea this year, (it seems as if I just got
home from the last one....wait a minute...I did) I will continue to
build relationships with churches, worship and intercession groups,
and YWAM training.

April 13-14

Meetings with Jim and Faith Chosa I believe First Nation leaders such as Jim and Faith are strategically positioned as Esther, with wisdom for such a time as this.

While in Korea this past month, I spent many hours prayer-walking the streets of Seoul. (you may still experience this as I documented this pictures and sound at http://pacificministries.blogspot.com/) Not only did it serve as my major exercise time, but these hours evolved into a kind of sanctuary experience....where I learned to listen deeply to what the Lord was speaking to me...just for that time and place. It is always difficult to "re-enter" the States. We are so preoccupied with effeciency, yet spend hours in the pursuit of mind-numbing entertainment. "Pray without ceasing"...and "being content in all things" were major themes during this trip, and yet I struggle to practice the same here, in familiar territory.

Bless you.....and see you at the River this Sunday, March 9th at 6pm.
