Worship at the River

WORSHIP AT THE RIVER
DECEMBER 8TH 2013
THE TROUTDALE HOUSE
WORSHIP BEGINS AT 6 PM (No Potluck)

Continue to read if you like details and gossip...teehee!

FIRST
For the past 12 years we have been meeting monthly spending time following Holy Spirit in exploring a variety of ways to corporately give thanks, praise and adoration to our loving God.  We have met in several different locations and have experienced many powerful times of intercession, proclamations and sounds we never thought could come out from corporate worship.

SECOND
This Sunday at Worship at the River will be no different!!  We will begin at
6 PM and spend the night worshiping with our whole hearts, souls, minds and strength.  Come prepared to share corporately the sights and sounds of heaven that you've seen on earth of God moving in your lives.

THIRD
The newly weds, Bill and Sherri Petersen, will be joining us!!  Yeah!!  I hope they brought warm winter coats cause it's going to be chilly.  Speaking of chilly...Darrell and I will head down to The Troutdale House an hour early to warm up the place but you might want to bring warm coats or even lap blankets.

FOURTH
It would be delightful if ya'll could bring desserts.  We will provide cold and hot beverages.

FIFTH
Bring instruments, banners, songs, psalms, edifying prophecy, tongues with interpretations and hearts for worship. (2 Cor 14)

SIXTH
You know the drill when the weather turns ugly with ice...stay home.

SEVENTH
If there are any sick, come and let the elders pray.
If there are any in need, let your need be known and those who can help will give generously.
If there are any hurting, come for hugs and support.
Come prepared to share the love of the Lord with those who gather.

EIGHTH
Send to Darrell your favorite Christmas song and we'll make sure to have the words.  (Or better yet, write your own and we'll sing it)

NINTH
Please bring your neighbors, friends and family.  There is plenty of room.

TENTH
Shhh!  We will take an offering to give to Laura and Martin to bless them for the use of their lovely wedding chapel.

ELEVENTH
Whew!!  Do you think I can make it to twelve.  Any suggestions.
Did I tell you that Bill and Sherri will be with us.  Well they will be!!

TWELFTH
On the twelfth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me (at today's market value $114,000):

Twelve drummers drumming,
Eleven pipers piping,
Ten lords a-leaping,
Nine ladies dancing,
Eight maids a-milking,
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree.

Time Change for Worship at the River Sunday, November 10 6 PM Desert Potluck Only (with Life Changing Graham Cooke Links)

We are looking forward to Worship at the River this Sunday, November 10 at the Troutdale House.  One major time change!  Because of a schedule conflict, we will not have our traditional potluck at 4 PM but will gather at 6 PM to enjoy our deserts. (Please bring a favorite to share)

We want to begin our worship together in a spirit of thanksgiving and appreciation.  This is not just a seasonal emphasis, but we believe in a culture of living in the delight and joy of the Lord through the telling of our stories of appreciation.  The book of Psalms is filled with such stories.

Several of us gathered for the live streaming conference on the Mind of Christ several weeks ago with Graham Cooke. Toward the end of his last session, he began to describe who we are in Jesus.  As he began to describe our identity through Scripture,  a palatable anticipation of appreciation and worship erupted into a standing ovation of praise.
Enjoy this video clip of these few minutes, and printed poster of this description.  We printed off several and have one on our refrigerator to remind us daily of who we are.

We bless you this Thanksgiving and look forward to worship at 6 PM.

October Worship at the River

I (Carlene) started with sauteing onions, garlic, celery, green or yellow peppers.  Add cooked ground hamburger, cans of diced tomatoes and sauce.  I added Italian seasonings and simmered my spaghetti sauce all afternoon allowing the aroma to saturate the home knowing the best part of my offering was yet to come.  I look forward to hearing the door open to the condo and hearing Darrell say,  "I'm home!! "Mmmm!  It sure smells good in here!"
Do I have your attention??

This Sunday at 4 pm Worship at the River will open the doors at The Troutdale House for our offering as we honor and celebrate Jesus.

For those interested, Graham Cooke will be hosting MIND OF A SAINT, a gathering in California which is available as a live stream event.  WE RECOMMEND IT!  Click here for info.

Birds OF the Air

Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Matthew 6:26

Our good friend Karen Kolzow preached an entire message on four words in this verse. "Birds of the air." It does not mean birds of the cage. We were made in His image with the full capabilities and creativity to fly. People, circumstances and religion create cages which do not allow us to fully express our God given gifts...our songs. We are all free...birds of the air.

We have the honor and privilege to host "songbirds" coming and going and this Sunday at Worship at the River. We will have the blessing and freedom to pray for one of our favorite song birds, Kelly Hahn. Most of us know and have experienced the beauty of her songs right? Several years ago Gordy Haggerty, (who can whistle like a songbird) had a word for Kelly saying she was a songbird created to release words and songs birthed by Holy Spirit in her heart. Well she is transitioning to Arizona soon to be with Marsh and Holye Maddox. Remember those two lovebirds? And speaking of lovebirds, we still miss Bill Petersen who is getting along nicely (thank you very much) in Cabo Mexico with his new wife Sherri.

This Sunday we'll gather at 4 pm at The Troutdale House (map) with our arms full of tasty dishes and our hearts full of worship with thanksgiving to God. We'll welcome the Holy Spirit to help us explore the beauty of "flying free."

River Notes

Dear Friends:

This summer, Carlene and I are reading a book by Frank viola God's Favorite Place on Earth. A short review:

The premise of the book is simple and 100% Biblical: when Jesus was on the earth, He was rejected everywhere He went . . . from Bethlehem, to Nazareth, to Jerusalem. The only exception was the little village of Bethany.

The curtain opens with Lazarus, who is now ready to die, telling the incomparable story of Jesus’ interactions with him, Martha, and Mary. God’s Favorite Place on Earth blends drama, devotion, theology, biblical narrative, and first-century history. Within each narrative, the common struggles that we Christians face are addressed and answered.

Before we return to the Troutdale House next month, we invite you to gather at the Hubbard home where Jesus is honored and adored.

Josh and Mary are one of the most hospitable, gracious, loving, sacrificial, couples on the planet. Not to mention I never leave their home hungry, usually content with cuisine with Mexican flair.

We'll gather at 4 p.m. with our potluck meal. We look forward to seeing many of you and we'll celebrate the stories of God's grace and favor this summer.

On an important side note, I recently spent an afternoon with my friend and mentor Jim Watt. He and his wife Marie , 90 years young, have been pioneers encouragement off pastors and leaders in the Northwest for over 60 years. Jim is the last living elder of the 1948 Canadian outpouring of the Spirit which launched the 20th century release of apostolic and prophetic ministry throughout the world. For the past 6 months he has been battling bladder cancer and the doctors have been perplexed with several occurrences of infection which have not responded to antibiotics.

Would you agree with us:

Lord we acknowledge your work and grace in the lives of Jim and Marie Watt. We agree for a spirit of wisdom and revelation for doctors to discover the best way to treat this infection and to accomplish healing in his body. You are the great physician and we proclaim your healing power in Jim's body. We agree for strength, endurance, peace, and joy for their household.

Korea Final

Komsomneda.... Is my poor translation of thank you in Korean. Thank you for praying for this trip.

I often bring a gift to pastors from the Northwest. This time I brought apple butter made from Hood River apples. The Lord always gives me a prophetic application to accompany the gift and this trip was no exception. Last fall Pastor David and his family visited an apple orchard where the Lord said I will give you a new understanding of fruitfulness and as you walk through the apple orchard I know that you are my delight. Little did I know that when I presented this gift they were shocked and filled with joy that the Lord would confirm their word through the gift from the Northwest. We all rejoiced!

Sunday evening I spoke at Seoul City Church. Very often I am privileged to pray and bless older saints who faithfully prayed for many years for their country and their families.

Very often I am mistaken for Bill Clinton. Sometimes even school children will ask for my autograph and I will sign Jesus loves you.... Love Bill Clinton. Pastor Joshua Cho of Seoul City Church thought that was hilarious! He had a copy of Bill Clinton's book in his library.

Komsomneda.... Is my poor translation of thank you in Korean. Thank you for praying for this trip. My last assignment before my 26 hour flight to Chicago (family wedding, rest and reunion) was to a small town 3 hours south of Seoul that is known for its ginseng products. We prayed and met with leaders in a factory who are beginning to manufacture ginseng based drinks that promote healing and provide business opportunities for missionaries in many parts of the world. And it actually is good!  (4 photos)

Korea 2

Friends:
Following is a summary of Facebook posts. Thank you for praying!!

Daddy loves you! This video illustrates what I have been speaking to Koreans throughout my visit. There's a desperation to hear the father's voice and his heart. This little boy underwent surgery to implant a new device in his brain and the first voice be heard was his fathers love for him. So it is with us as we let God transform our mind and renew it to let us hear the father's voice for the first time: daddy loves you!

Amazing moment deaf three-year-old boy hears for the first time
Deaf three-year-old Grayson hears his father's voice for the first time after surgery in the US. Report by Genelle Aldred.

Yes this is true you are looking at a burrito stuffed with chicken nuggets and lots of carrots and lettuce. Wonderful Korean creativity! Spoke today in the youth service and at the seminary on Isaiah 40. I believe Korea reflects the character and nature of renewed strength found in the Eagle. The seminary President had this beautiful print of the Eagle in his office.

Appreciate prayers for 3 important meetings tomorrow. Will meet with Bhojraj Bhatta and his wife tomorrow. He is a pastor from Nepal with a vision for Kingdom multiplication throughout his nation. Following that I have a three hour session with a group of pastors and professors from a theology seminary followed by preaching at my dentist's church which is literally 20 feet from his dental chair. He has a church in the dental office where I spoke last time.
Will simply tell stories of Gods passion and love for us.

Seoul South Korea is noted for its wide and excellent cuisine for the discriminating palette. Had my choice of the following 2 menu items. Decided to Burger King it. Having it my way.

37 years ago today and we're still singing together! Happy Anniversary baby although in Korea halfway around the world my heart is never far from you.

Shared for several hours with a group of seminary students who have a humble but huge vision for Korea's destiny and impact throughout the world. They have a special heart for North Korea. I have worked in partnership with these leaders for many years. Good to know relationships last!

Finally, a brief history of my last 11 years of ministry in Korea. Please do not comment on the pictures from 2003. Yes this is really me.
Gathering this afternoon with 7 pastors who are interested in doing church differently. Will just share stories of God's faithfulness in the adventure of stepping off our map.

All over Korea on the city streets you will find hundreds of what I call prophetic booths. There's such a strong desire for Koreans to understand who they are and what their purpose and identity. Everywhere I go there is such a strong hunger for significance. The Holy Spirit desires to release a full and refreshing revelation of who the Father is to this nation.

Leadership and worship at Shalom Staff. These believers are place a high priority on worship. I encouraged them to let the Holy Spirit release the song in them.... the fullness of all they are as an object of God's great delight! (4 photos)

During the evening service I shared out of John 1.... In the beginning was the Word.
One of the women in the church has family in North Korea and just a few days ago heard that her mother, father, brother have all died of starvation in the last week. Some of the leaders in the church and myself gathered around to support her and pray for her after the service. I will see her tomorrow again, and I wonder if any of you have words of encouragement for her? She is a godly woman and serves faithfully in the church yet she believes this tragedy can be a testimony of Gods mercy and love.
Just leave comments for "Mary" and I'll read them to her tomorrow.

Gathering at the Miller's

After a 26 hour flight from Seoul Korea through Japan, Vancouver British Columbia, and eventually Chicago, I joined Carlene for a very special family wedding and extended family vacation. For the first time all of our children and their spouses were in attendance at their cousin Jon's Wedding celebration.

We often describe relationships as being the most important value in our life, and I believe that is true. We had the joy of being together with my folks, all my siblings, and many of their children. We reunited with my 87 year old favorite Aunt Dorothy who took me, my brother Ken, and my cousin Bruce on our first adventure 50 years ago to the Black Hills of South Dakota.

She gave me a great gift: a sense of adventure and love of travel. We laughed together, played games, ate too much, and even had an old fashion hymn sing.

At 4 p.m. at the Millers farm in Corbett, we want to do much of the same.We want to eat together, and share stories about what the Lord has accomplished these last weeks. Isn't that a good description of "church"?

Here are the particulars:

Bring your own meat to grill on our barbecue
Bring an additional picnic dish.... salad dessert whatever
Will begin gathering at 4 p.m. and let the Lord lead the entire evening
Beverages, watermelon, and all utensils will be provided
Directions to Millers  37501 E Knieriem Corbett, OR

We look forward to being together and celebrating life!

Korea update 1

Dear Friends.

Following are posts regarding this trip to Korea.  I realize Facebook is not everybody's favorite social medium, but it is awfully convenient as I can update with prayer requests, photos, and video instantly. Sooooo, I hearby invite you to my Facebook page and track the trip and if you're not my friend already (ok....I can hear groans and jokes abound)  I'll send another update up....sometime.

Bless you my Facebook Friends...(and others too)

During the evening service I shared out of John 1.... In the beginning was the Word.
One of the women in the church has family in North Korea and just a few days ago heard that her mother, father, brother have all died of starvation in the last week. Some of the leaders in the church and myself gathered around to support her and pray for her after the service. I will see her tomorrow again, and I wonder if any of you have words of encouragement for her? She is a godly woman and serves faithfully in the church yet she believes this tragedy can be a testimony of Gods mercy and love.
Just leave comments for "Mary" and I'll read them to her tomorrow.

With Pastor Deborah Oh and David Deuk Keun Park at lunch before meetings. If you know Korean food you know its the best in the world. When you look at this you can smell it can't you? Carlene Dahlman will be thrilled to hear that in the first meeting I preached the entire service in a song. 35 minutes worth. The worship team accompanied me and had of course no rehearsals as it was all spontaneous. Crazy good!

After eight hour bus ride to Vancouver British Columbia and two plain segments totaling 19 hours I finally arrived yesterday evening in beautiful but hot and extremely humid Seoul South Korea. My friend of over eight years Pastor David Park greeted me once again. This is latest picture of their family. Love them much and would prefer staying with him than the fanciest hotel in Korea! Speaking this afternoon at Shalom Mission church 3 and 7 PM and tomorrow morning in their morning and afternoon services. Korean instant style coffee and salad is typical breakfast. Yeah!

"It is amazing to me that some Christians think that God is only good when we are good, and that if we are doing bad, He is going to judge us or be angry with us. What's that all about?! I think it would just make Him too human for words. God isn't like us and He has no plans to be. He just loves being who He is!"
This Graham Cooke quote confirms God's goodness in the story I wrote called The Green Chair:

The green chair sits in a far corner of our portable classroom. We are isolated from the rest of the middle school because life for these students is overwhelming. Teachers and assistants are challenged with "behavior issues", and when students feel out of control are encouraged to sit in the green chair. Educational experts define it as a "decompression zone". We are an island of misfit toys.
This September, I took a 3 day assignment to substitute that has lasted over 3 months. Progress is slow. Improvement difficult to measure. All of the staff care deeply and I began to see students through eyes of Jesus. They became modern day equivalents of Peter, James, and John.
Imagine my surprise on a recent Friday I noticed the green chair had remained vacant the entire day! Monday was much the same. WOW! Breakthrough! Time to rejoice! School administration gave us permission and even promised to pay for a Pizza party. (The modern day version of killing the fatted calf)
Then the very next day, we crashed. Total blowout. Failure, regression, set back, discouragement, and extreme disappointment. Sadly I began to make plans to cancel the party. The Green Chair was once again occupied on a regular basis.

That night the Lord gently whispered to me:
Lord: Why cancel a celebration because of failure?
I argued: We are trying to teach the importance of consequences for bad behavior.
Lord: Since when did you deserve consequences for bad behavior? Do you remember the Father running to embrace the prodigal son? No consequences for bad behavior there.

We celebrate Christmas as Joy coming to the world. The cross became the answer for our collective bad behavior. All bad behavior....past, present, and future. Truth be told, we all need green chair time. Time to reset and to remember.
So next Tuesday we are having a massive pizza celebration. Not because kids managed to stay out of the green chair. But because we celebrate their originality, creativity, and brilliance.

Love This Book

Shortly, I will be receiving a review copy of God’s Favorite Place on Earth by Frank Viola. The book released May 1st and stayed in the top # 50 on Amazon.com for 8 straight days. There’s a lot of buzz about this book on the Web, and I’ll be writing a review after I read it.

Here are a few interesting nuggets about the book.

* It’s been recommended by 47 Christian authors, including John Ortberg, Jack Hayford, Leonard Sweet, Tricia Goyer, Mary DeMuth, Greg Boyd, Todd Hunter, Jon Acuff, Phil Cooke, and many others.

* There is an interesting video trailer for the book that introduces it.

* The book tells the story of Jesus in the little village of Bethany and the amazing things that happened there through the eyes of Lazarus. It combines biblical narrative, dramatization, theological insights, and nonfiction devotional teaching. It argues that “Bethany” was God’s Favorite Place on Earth and explains how every Christian and every church can be “Bethanys” today for God.

* The book addresses 18 specific struggles that Christians face today and offers hope, challenge, and fresh insight.

You can check all of this out at God’s Favorite Place on Earth and get the book on discount.

Korea 2013

Last Saturday evening a dozen or so of us gathered to enjoy each other and listen to the Lord together for upcoming events.  Later this week, I will travel to Korea for the first time in over a year.  There has been a burning message in my heart about true spiritual unity and a fresh revelation of grace that I want to bring to my friends.  As folks prayed for me this is literally a transcription of what was prayed:

...protection and willingness to release the message in obedience...
...open hands with regard to schedule and every divine appointment...
..favor with leaders and churches..
..walking in the daily light of the revelation of God's grace..

John 17
revelation of unity with an open heart and open ears.  You have spoken about unity in this passage that this message of hunger for real unity would be happening even now.  When one church or one believer struggles all are affected.  A new baptism of love that would break down walls which keep leaders from relating and loving one another.

After these prayers, I felt the beginnings of the spiritual song which summarizes everything.  Here are the lyrics and perhaps one day I'll sing it for you live!

How Can the Arms Say I Am Not Part of the Body?
How Can the Hands Say I Do Not Belong?
How Can a Foot Say I Am Not Wanted?
How Can the Heads Say I Am Not Part of
What the Father Has Created for Kingdom Glory to Be Revealed!

Lord Let Us See the Parts All Together
Lord Let Us See the Unity of Faith
One Heart One Voice One Mind and One Body
All for the Glory of Kingdom Revealed

Thank you for praying for this trip.

Worship at the River is this Sunday May 12th

Worship at the River is this Sunday May 12th beginning at 6 pm at The Troutdale House located in Troutdale off Old Columbia Hwy.  And yes we will begin at 6 pm.   You read it correct...6 pm.  Got it??  Worship at the River will start at 6 pm this Sunday at The Troutdale House.

It is also Mother's Day!!  So because it is Mother's Day WAR would like to propose a twist to the potluck portion of our worship time together to honor the heart God gave to women.  Instead of preparing a "meal",  bring a story and/or prayer you've had on your heart for your children and together we will enjoy praying with you, asking Holy Spirit how to pray and encourage you. Nice twist right?

Speaking of twists, we are going to move WAR from Sunday June 9th to Tuesday June 11th.  We will begin at 6 pm with fellowship and start worship at 7 pm.

Don't forget:

  • We will not have a potluck May 12th.
  • We will begin our time of worshiping Jesus at 6 pm.
  • Ladies, please bring a story or prayer about your children you can share.
  • Next WAR will meet Tuesday June 11th.  NOT Sunday June 9th.

Stay tuned for more twists in July and August.  The wedding season is upon The Troutdale House and we, along with Laura and Martin, praise God for the bookings.

Celebration Service For Janice Kavakov

It is not often I feel as strongly as I do about a gathering.  Last fall many of you will know that Janice went to be with Jesus.  She was faithful to come to our Worship at the River gatherings and would almost always feel compelled to write a poem which very often summarize what God was speaking to us.

Breath of Love     September 13, 2000

My Joy in Growing with Other Christians Overflows My Soul
I Cannot Conceive What You've Prepared for Us in Heaven
I Cannot Believe What You Do for Us Here on Earth
by Your Spirit, I Discern What I Cannot Understand
by Your Spirit I Strive to Have Your Mind,
Jesus, Your Heart Your Soul Your Very Breath Mingled with My Own.

Listening for you Lord

... Use Me As a Vessel Lord Siphon Your Words through Me
I Can Brag so Easily about the One Who Set Me Free
Give Me Thoughts of Heaven of Eternity with You
and Dreams of Meeting Moses Joshua and Ruth...

We are going to have a celebration of the life of Jesus expressed in Janice this Saturday at 2 PM at the As Is church.  Address is below.  This will not be a memorial alone, it will be a statement that death has lost its sting and there is victory.  Janice always had such a powerful expression of joy on her face.  She had a very difficult life.  Many challenges.  But we saw the best of what Jesus released in her.

My sense is that this will be a spark to encourage and release the same in many who have struggled with the very issues Janice struggled with.  Join us as we celebrate this Saturday morning!

Celebration Service

Cabo Report and Worship at the River Sunday March 10 4pm

Most of us are adjusting to much cooler weather and, well as much as some may like Taco Bell, it's quite lacking compared to the simple but incredibly delicious tacos we enjoyed in Cobo.  Simple but memorable describes our relationship with the saints in the churches, small groups and gatherings we experienced as a team,  Lots of laughter, puzzeled expression, and plans which unexpectedly changed.... were all part of this adventure.  We plan to share about Cabo and let the Lord unwrap His design for our gathering this month at the River. Please plan on joining us for our 4pm meal (just as important as anything!)

Just one quick story:

Bill and I were speaking in one of the most "dangerous" areas of the city with a group of 25 believers and the Holy Spirit began to highlight a women who had what could best be described as a blank expression during the meeting. The Lord began to speak to me to tell her we are all treasures....works of art (Eph 2:10) and within her was a most beautiful treasure box.  I began to describe it covered in gold and precious stones, but it had never been opened.  I saw it encrusted with dirt and rusted shut. God wanted to bring forth this treasure and reveal it for His glory.  Bill anointed her with oil and we saw Jesus begin to work in His creativity in opening her treasure to bring healing, confidence and encouragement.  Then....I saw this was not an ordinary treasure box...but a MUSIC BOX...which when opened began to play the song of her heart!!

We look forward to our gathering...and may we recognize the treasure we are and the song within US!

Sunday, March 03, 2013

Once again we find ourselves amazed at the timing and creativity of the Holy Spirit as we are moving into final days of ministry. We spoke together as one. We carried with us songs, words of instruction and encouragment, and the release of the Father's Love. Highlights:
  • Bill this morning sharing how the Father has poured out His love during the past year without Delight...not to many dry eyes among us
  • Singing a brand new song with the lyics: Celebrate with songs of Freedom, Joy, Healing, and Love to the four corners of the orphanage property and joinging with the children in proclaiming healing over the pastor and leader Joel.
  • All of us tag teaming as we are learning to listen together
  • Lots of laughter and joy as we "melt into" the Mexican brothers and sisters lives
  • Many words of encouragment as most fight the injustice of poverty, and battle with understanding the Father's Face (Favor) especially the women.
  • Confimation of prophetic words spoken 7 and 8 years ago...nothing encourages us more!
  • Carlene inspiring signing
  • Connie's heart for women
  • Mike's simple words bringing hope
  • Waynes passion for healing and blessing....
  • Eliza's tears.
Pray for me (Darrell) has I venture to a house church meeting tonight in one of the poorest areas of the region with Angel (his real name) as my interpreter. (True in more than one way!)

Thursday, February 28, 2013

Darrell.....
We have had many wonderful experiences as the Lord is building a good team. Tomorrow we begin 3 days of intense ministry. We will speak at a service Friday night with a group hungry to hear the Lord, Saturday an orphanage and prayer for their leader who is undergoing a kidney transplant. Saturday evening we will speak at another church worship and ministry as well as Sunday morning for a 1 year celebration and anniversary of the church. Sunday afternoon plans include a house church located in one of the poorest areas of the city. Bless you for praying.
Carlene...
I want to add how much fun and comforting it is to travel to San Jose de Cabo with such good long time friends. Bill has been a rock, Wayne and Eliza helping with planning our days and translating, Mike and Connie know how to enjoy our surroundings and bring peace to situations that otherwise would stop us in our tracks. World Mark is a beautiful place and I'm so thankful to God for His beauty that surrounds us all. God has been faithful and is preparing us for the times we will be visiting home churches and an orphanage this weekend. God has already blessed us with our times together and with the connections we have here in Cabo. His name is to be Praised!! He has beautiful believers here who are facing many trials but they have seen His hand deliver them and heal them. We look forward to spending time hearing their stories and worshiping God our Father for the work He has done and is doing.
Love to you all and thank you for praying.
Specific prayers...

  • Great expectations of signs wonders miracles and healing
  • Safety in driving and smooth travel
  • Protection an favor with pastors and leaders
  • Accurate listening and hearing for each meeting
  • Impartition of joy and Father's love
  • Revelation from Holy Spirt

Good Reports

I simply love the kingdom of God!  Whether it's prayer counseling in our homes, ministering to 20 children in a Mexican orphanage, worshiping together in Troutdale, encouraging leaders in Costa Rica, or rejoicing in the establishment of 25,670 churches in northern India.... we a beautiful, ever-changing 3 dimensional mosaic of creativity and beauty.  We are as Ephesians says His "workmanship ".... accurately translated as a "poem". Living Words.

We are looking forward to our potluck gathering at 4 PM this Sunday, February 10 at theTroutdale House.  I am always amazed at the wonderful revelation and heart of Jesus expressed as we worship him and listen to the Holy Spirit for His agenda.  We want to encourage you to bring a favorite food offering.

Josh and Mary Hubbard will bring a report on the months of Ministry in Costa Rica.  We sent them off last November and we are excited to celebrate the fruits and victories in their stories.

Carlene and I together with Mike and Connie Dana and Bill Petersen and Wayne and Eliza Miller will travel to Cabo San Lucas Mexico February 24 for eight days of Ministry/Rest.  (I love Ministry/Rest... they are not an oxymoron!) Our primary purpose is to cultivate and expand relationships while encouraging leaders we have met since 2004.  Many work in some of the poorest of the poor  with relief work and establishing churches.  We also plan to minister at an orphanage led by Joel Hernandez.  We do plan to take an offering this Sunday evening  During the trip, I will plan to post regularly on Pacificministries Blog.

Finally, I want to celebrate with you in a annual report I just received from Rodrick Gilbert, our friend and church planter in northern India.  He has been with us several times, and we anticipate a visit in March or April, and Carlene and I anticipate a return to India later this spring for a leader's gathering similar to the one held in 2011.  The fruit of his obedience and Ministry is a cause for celebration, and I feel privileged to count him as a friend and co-labor in the kingdom.  This report is absolutely astounding!  The mark of a true apostolic and kingdom leader is always humility.  Following is Rodrick's prayer request for this next year.  Please note 5.

Prayer Request:
1) Resources for the ministry – We need a broader donor base
2) supporters, helpers, advocates, advisors and donors of the ministry to be blessed
3) Spiritual growth, commitment, loyalty and health of the leaders at all level
4) Families of the leaders
5) Those who oppose the work of the Lord
6) Goals for 2013
A. To see 50,000 souls saved and baptized
B. To see 5,000 new churches planted
C. To see 50,000 children reached (in addition to point A)
D. To see 23% over-all growth in ministry

Worship at the River

Worship at the River

January 20012

Worship doesn’t lead to Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ leads to worship. Worship hasn’t shaped my understanding of God. The Lord Jesus Christ has. Knowing Christ intimately and exploring His riches leads to love, adoration, worship, awe, and sheer amazement. Living by Christ is a life of love and awe. He’s the most incredible Person in the universe. When we get a sighting of Him, we are forced to fall on our knees in adoration. Frank Viola

Psalm 68

But let the [uncompromisingly] righteous be glad; let them be in high spirits and glory before God, yes, let them [jubilantly] rejoice!
Sing to God, sing praises to His name, cast up a highway for Him Who rides through the deserts—His name is the Lord—be in high spiritsand glory before Him!

Ephesians 3

19 [That you may really come] to know [practically, [e]through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses [f]mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] [g]unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and [h]become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]!
20 Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]—
21 To Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen (so be it).
