Dear Lovers of God's Kingdom in the P...

Dear Lovers of God's Kingdom in the Portland/Vancouver Area,

We want to announce a new season for Pacificministries.  Not just a new day, (2nd Wednesdays of every month), but a new location, the Troutdale House. (on the Historic Columbia River Highway in Troutdale next to the Depot Museum)

Our son Nathaniel opened a new restaurant based on Erin and Kelly Leggett's Wall Street pizza recipe.  It's called DeLéo Brothers Pizza, named after Carlene's Italian family hospitality and "healthy eating".  (Think garlic rolls and giant calzones)
He began with inviting all of his friends and family to a "soft" opening April 1.  Apparently this is what restaurants do in the beginning days and weeks before an official opening. The kitchen and staff are free to  make all sorts of adjustments and settle in to the flow of a new eatery.

As you may know, we have recently stopped meeting at the Cox Building at Glenn Otto Park in Troutdale.  God has provided a beautiful gathering place at the Troutdale House.  Laura and her husband who opened this remodeled facility a year or so ago, are exited to welcome worshippers to their building.  Since the Troutdale House is a wedding spot, weekends are not available to us so we will be meeting there on the 2nd Wednesday of each month.

We want to invite our friends and family to a  "soft" opening for our new June 9th Wednesday Worship at the River meeting.  We want to share a potluck meal together. Please choose salad, main dish, or dessert to share and we will begin at 6 p.m then worship together and celebrate what God wants to do this next season.

The idea that we would not be meeting on the 2nd Sunday opened up a discussion of what we might do on the 2nd Sunday evening of each month--and we think we are to divide into smaller home groups for fellowship and an opportunity to move deeper into prayer.

It is a new day for Pacificministries and a new day for you, and I believe we are challenged with new assignments.  We know we need to be closely connected with friends who are like-minded.

We bless you,

Darrell and Carlene

Pacificministries Worship this Sunday May 9

Friends,

Sunday evening May 9th at 6pm we will gather for worship at the same location as last month.  New Map

Many of you may remember Rodrick Gilbert, who has been a part of several gatherings we have sponsored  in our region over the past years.  Rodrick began to practice principles of Luke 10 over ten years ago, and through simple trust in Holy Spirit's design and in His supernatural signs and wonders, began to plant simple organic churches all over India.  Despite the tragic loss of his wife 5 years ago in a King Cobra attack and losing many leaders in the
aftermath, the Lord has blessed him with a new wife as well as multiplying his ministry efforts. (10 min. video here)

His ministry center/home is filled with laughter, Dominoes pizza, prayer meetings, leadership summits, Indian tea, worship and more spicy  food!

Rodrick and the multitude of other leaders serving in obsurity all over the world, represent Kingdom Life and authority in this world.  I will forever be changed.  Lord, may it happen here in the Northwest!  Reports on India may be found here

We will sponsor another gathering this summer when Rodrick will be in the Northwest with his whole  family.  (Time and place to be announced)

Looking forward to sharing a bit more about India and worshiping with you this Sunday May 9th at 6pm

Directions:  362 NE 219th Ave Gresham, Oregon 97030 at the Word of Life Church in the Clear Creek Business Park at  NE Glisan and NE 219th Ave in Gresham. South off  Glisan onto 219th, Turn left into the first drive way, Proceed straight ahead to the end, Turn right and the church will be on your right)

Pacificminnistries India Final

Friends,

After a difficult flight home (on top of "intestinal stuff" I suffered from a kidney stone 2 hours before landing...NOT FUN) I am finally home from one of the most physically and spiritually challenging 2 weeks of ministry in India.   I am tired but encouraged.  A final story.

I was priveleged to pray for some of Rodrick Gilberts leaders who serve house church networks in 7 states of India.  Currently they have over 12,500 such churches numbering over 1.5 milllion believers.  Many of these champions are women.  "Sarah" is small, barley 5 feet but a spiritual giant, responsible for 6000 new believers over the last several years.  She experienced such growth through simple faith and a belief that Jesus is the same...yesterday, today, and forever.  She introduced me to "Rachel" her daughter now 12.  When the monsoon rains come to India, they flood the slums and besides creating a breeding ground for mosquitoes and other diseases pose many dangers.  Five years ago, while Sarah was away ministering to several house churches in the slums, Rachel fell into an electrically charged power wire displaced by monsoon rains.  The electrical current traveled through the back of her head and exited through her shoulder. She died....instantly.  Rushed to the hospital, the doctor refused any treatment and declared her dead. Finally, after 4 hours, Sarah arrived to annouce her daughter was coming home.  They took her body home....prayed, and Rachel rose from the dead.

I have been waiting all my life to meet Sarah and Rachel.  I know God is still doing miracles. I have read of many.  But in our comfortable Western culture with it's many multi-ministries, churches and health professionals, I can become complacent and content in my faith.  Until I met and touched the "Sarahs" of the Kingdom who with their simple faith are  believing Jesus meant it when He said "
I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things. I want be a part of this generation who are about the "greater things."

Thank your for your prayers and gifts to make this trip possible.
